It’s probably because of Lotus, but still, yikes.

Does this count though, considering Lotus Engineering designed the engine as a subsidiary of Lotus Cars?

From TFA:
The same ZF 6-speed manual transmission a s fitted to a contemporary Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1 was used to transfer this power to the rear wheels via a rear limited-slip differential from the V8 Holden Commodore .
So, related.
It’s worth noting that WP is there for anyone to create an account to discuss changes or just make edits, and the transparency is pretty good.

Really doesn’t sound related enough to call it related to me. Just using the same engine or transmission is not enough, or there would be a ton more things linked.
This is the edit that put it in (which unfortunately doesn’t explain the change at all): https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Lotus_Carlton&diff=874333111&oldid=874330474

Trolling aside, the Carlton actually does have a real connection to the ZR1.
They use the exact same ZF built 6 speed transmission. It’s a direct swap.
How did you guess I’ve been watching for a Carlton to import? Seriously, these things can haul serious ass.

I believe the ZR1 was added because of the few vehicles that exist where an option package exceeded the base price of the car.

Commodore reference should’t be there.
